NEHL – East Cramlington Nature Reserve
Saturday 8th October 2011
The cross country season started with a dry day, good conditions underfoot and a good performance from the Claremont Ladies, with Megan Murdoch having a particularly impressive run. Running from the medium pack, Megan came home in 7th position recording the 6th fastest time. Unfortunately for Megan this means a promotion to the fast pack for future races. She was ably supported by a solid debut from the aptly named Joanna Speedie, and a welcome return from Tanja Cooper.
Unfortunately it was a disappointing day for the men as we failed to field a complete team and so start the season at the bottom of the table. Only 5 runners turned up and all of those were over 50. Still us “gadgies” did our best and got around in fairly respectable times, led home by Alasdair Wilson-Craw.
