Blyth Transped 10K, Sunday 1st April 2012
The following race report is from Lorna Pearson:
On a cold but sunny morning in Blyth races lined up to compete in this years Blyth 10K. There were several sky blue vests in the crowd, ensuring the club was well represented.
After the recent really sunny weather, it was a colder than it been but it stayed fine and sunny [wish I’d brought my sun glasses!!!!]
It was a fast course, apart from the undulating path through the dunes, with the wind blow on the side of us. However on the way back the headwind was a bit strong and unrelenting on the long straight stretch home along the coast. At the end everyone was pleased with their times, considering this wind.
As you can see there were PBs and SBs all around and Jeremy and Tracey placed in the top 10 for their age group.
For myself, I know I am slow but I was slower than normal; all I can say is a report is also going into Blyth Council, complementing them on the cleanliness of the public toilets [open, clean and with toilet paper, first thing on a Sunday morning].
A good morning had by all.
