Newcastle parkrun 07/07/12
Normal service was resumed after last week’s run was cancelled due to an Armed Forces Day event in Exhibition Park. The Hoppings may have left toon but the remains of one of the rides behind the military museum and the terrible state of the gravel paths meant an alternate route had to be used. It was also a special day for much loved Newcastle parkrun veteran Eric Appleby as he celebrated his 100th run. As before, for Malcolm Craighead’s 100th week of volunteering, someone had left a cake near the start. The identity of this mystery baker is still unknown.
