Morpeth 10K Tuesday 31st July 2012

As one of only two Claremonters taking part, Nina Jensen has kindly sent us a race report:

With a start less than a 10 minute walk from my front door, Morpeth 10k is a 2 lap undulating route on some pretty country roads. The route also also takes you past a couple of footballers houses but as a fairly fast race, you’ve got to be quick to spot them. The weather tonight was perfect for racing with very little wind and just a hint of rain.
There was plenty of support from spectators and marshals on the way round especially on the slightly hilly bits.
As I’ve ran this race before I was aware that the last section involves a couple of sharp bends and is narrow as you run through the underpass so I pushed on to try and overtake a couple of runners just ahead of me before I got to this bit and picked up my pace to set a new pb.

Nina finished 148th in 44:59

Chris Hogarth was 207th in 48:31
