NECAA Road Relays, Hetton Lyons, 20th Feb 2016
I think it is fair to say that we didn’t get our strongest team out at Hetton Lyons, but we got around what is a good course on decent paths. I’m sure that they have made the hill through the woods longer – it certainly seemed that way on lap 2! The weather was fairly kind by the standards of February in the North East, though there was a bit of a breeze.
It was nice to see a few debutants in the Claremont teams, with Alice Vialard, Chris Carr and Matt Diment all wearing the sky blue in a team event for the first time.
The first event is for Ladies and Men Over 50. The Claremont girls were 31st in their category with the foillowing times:
Sarah Bowen | 15:29 | Julie Cross | 16:41 | Alice Vialard | 19:20 | Rose Hawkswood | 19:02 |
The Mens Over 50 team was a man short so we didn’t get a position, but our times were:
John Grimshaw | 16:40 | Ken McCormick | 18:20 | Tom Tinsley | 14:53 |
Kenny and John ran again in the seniors race and Roberto arrived having already run 15 miles! John had also done parkrun in the morning. So the times could probably have better! They were:
Howard MacLennan | 15:51 | Roberto Marzo | 15:55 | Matt Diment | 16:38 | Chris Carr | 16:38 | Kenny McCormick | 18:55 | John Grimshaw | 16:51 |
