NEHL Wrekenton, 19th March 2016
After all the mud and rain this winter, the weather was kind for the final Harrier League event of the season at Wrekenton. The course was in good condition with just a couple of muddy stretches – and thankfully they were on the flat bits!
The Claremont Ladies put in a strong performance, with Mandy Herworth finishing in an excellent 27th place, which I believe will earn her a promotion to the medium pack next season. Sarah Bowen was also impressive as this was her comeback run after an enforced lay-off. They were ably supported by Julie Cross, Julie Dumpleton, Rose Hawkswood and the ever-improving Alice Vialard.
The men were, unfortunately, one short of a full team but I think we were all fairly happy with our runs.
