parkrun, 25th December 2019
A parkrun is becoming an increasingly popular way to start Christmas Day. So it was again this year, with around 25 Claremont runners starting their day this way on the 25th.
The diaspora that happens at this time of the year resulted in the parkruns being scattered around the UK. Members ran in Carlisle, Coventry, Gateshead, Leazes, Middlesbrough, Newcastle, Poole, Sheffield, York and Wanstead Flats. Some of the turnouts were very large, a massive 1345 ran in Poole.
As usual the largest turnout of Claremont runners and volunteers was at Leazes park. It was here that Tom Tinsley ran his 250th run. Congratulations Tom! Congratulations also to Julie Cross for a PB on the same course.

We also had a few photographers at Leazes Park – our own Luke Woodend was the event photographer, Maggie Davison took a few as well as running and, as ever, Mungai was in selfie-mode. All are available on the Leazes Park Facebook page, but I have created an album of (mainly) Claremont ones for our Flickr page:
