Race to the Castle, 26th-27th June 2021

The Race to the Castle is actually a series of ultra trail races finishing at Bamburgh Castle.

Nina Jensen took on the full, non-stop 100K distance (of course) and had to battle the wind, rain and unseasonable cold. She said that, from the viewpoint at Simonside, she could barely see the runner ahead never mind any scenery! Also that the final stretch was tough as it was into horizontal rain. If wor Nina found it tough, then conditions must have been bad, but she still finished in 15 hours 14 minutes in 67th place..

Sonam Wangdi had the much better weather, choosing to run the 50K route on the Sunday. He did exceptionally well, finishing 8th in a time of 4 hours 35 mins.
