Chopwell Moon Runner 10K, 23rd October 2021
Nina Jensen, Julie Dumpleton and Mark Anderson all ventured out after dark into Chopwell Woods and ran a 10K. In Mark’s words:
“We were blessed with excellent running conditions tackling 10k of soft, rather undulating(!) trails in the dark aided only by a head torch. It was great to be out racing at night again – always attracts an interesting crowd of regulars, so was good to catch up with a number of like-minded friends. Falling over at some point during the race is pretty much mandated. The event was exceptionally well organised and there are still places for a similar run in Hamsterley Forest in a couple of weeks for anyone interested.”
Nina’s view:
“Too cloudy to see the moon, but a lovely, hilly trail. Julie and I won the Cava in the spot prizes. Love the mug as well!”
The official results do not seem to be available yet, but Mark’s Strava shows a time of 44:59 and Nina’s shows 67:23 (I’m guessing the two ladies ran together).
