Town Moor Marathon, 7th November 2021

This annual event, hosted by the North East Marathon Club, consists of laps of the Town Moor and Exhibition Park with races at both half and full marathon distance. As usual, Claremont manned the water station providing drinks and snacks to the runners as they passed on each lap.

Some sky blues also chose to run – Mungai Wairia entering the full distance with Mary Martin and Chris Jones choosing the half. I take my hat off to anybody running round and round the Moor in that very strong wind, or at least I would have done if it hadn’t been so cold!

Results are not yet available, but I know that Chris completed the half in 1:37, a very impressive time given the conditions.
