Geordieman, 4th September 2022

The Geordieman is a full and half distance triathlon endurance event (i.e. Iron Man) which takes place at Druridge Bay. Paul Robinson entered the Half Geordieman, which consists of a 1.2 mile swim in the Ladyburn Lake, a 56 mile cycle ride up and down the fabulous Northumberland Coast and a half-marathon run around Druridge Bay Country Park on paths, tarmac and trails.

In his own words:

“First triathlon in 6/7 years and I only have to choose a half Ironman distance. So, in breaking myself in gently again, I had an awful swim…couldn’t see the markers and was all over the place, I was pretty pleased with the bike considering how wet it got and then my legs died a horrible painful death on the run…..

….and I loved it! Can’t wait to sign up again for next year!

Time to rest up before the GNR next week. At least today was a canny training run.”

Paul was rewarded with 68th place finish completing the whole ordeal race in 5:38:51. Amazing! Well done! He is even smiling at the end!
