There were a lot of running tourists in the North East for this week’s parkruns, most of whom were sampling the joys of our lovely parks before the Great North Run. Leazes Park and Jesmond Dene both recorded their second highest ever attendance, with 289 and 288 runners respectively.
In contrast, a lot of us chose to have the week off, or to volunteer, to save our legs for racing the following day. There were two PBs for Claremonters this week – Nina Jentl at Riverside and Alex Harding at Newbiggon-by-the-Sea.
