This year’s cross-country season was off to a great start yesterday at Wrekenton!
Despite a rainy and windy start in the morning and as we arrived, partway through the ladies race the sun decided to come out and stayed out all the way through the men’s race too.
With some Claremonters away on holiday, honeymoon and marathon-ing abroad, we had a slightly smaller but very enthusiastic group alongside a fabulous looking new tent. For quite a few of us (myself included) it was our first ever cross-country and with a great atmosphere, perfect weather conditions and no mud in sight despite torrential rain most of this week, it has lured us into a false sense of security and we’re all keen to return!
Thank you everyone for the great action shots and all the cheering along in the sidelines and to Alex for ensuring we all had much needed baked goods at the end.

Here’s to a great cross-country season and bring on Druridge Bay in October!
