This has been an eventful parkrun Saturday for the sky-blues!
Setting the tone and setting off the earliest, were Maria and Kimberley, doing 4 parkruns back to back as part of their marathon training! They started off at Town Moor at 8am, joined a few of us at Jesmond for the “official” parkrun, caught the tail end of Leazes, and finished off over in hilly Saltwell Park! Well done both for powering through 30km, what an incredible effort!
Incidentally, their calm pace was quite a steady pace for me, and got me a course PB at Jesmond, where Kris Axon got a 2nd place!
Another course PB went to Izzy over in Gateshead, well done Izzy!
Tom and Gill were down in Bristol and managed to bag one of the elusive A’s at Ashton Court. You can have a read of Tom’s report about it to see how they got on.
Over in our Australian contingent, Margaux has fully landed down under and celebrated by doing her first parkrun in quite different weather conditions to normal!
Visiting Great Dunmow in Essex, veteran Claremonter Joyce Archibold set a course record for her age category (only partly down to the fact she was the first person over 85 recorded running there!). Well done Joyce!
