North Tyneside 10K, 9th April 2023
It was a cold day at the coast for this traditional Easter Sunday run along the Tyne and up the coast to St Mary’s Lighthouse. There was also a slightly changed route this year, that saw the runners head straight down to the river and past the Ferry Terminal before running along to North Shields Fish Quay. This still meant the usual fast start, before hitting a bit of a headwind as we headed out towards the mouth of the Tyne and the climb uphill to Tynemouth Priory.
Paul Robinson led the 12 Sky Blues home, despite starting at the back of the field. A special mention to Sarah Collins who ran her first ever 10K. I think she enjoyed it – Gill says that she managed to chat all the way around! We also had two age category winners – Lynne Cornell and Tom Tinsley. Well done to all.
Please note that the position in the table below shows chip position, not the order in which runners crossed the finish line.
