Why, we do get about, don’t we? Following Lucy Keating’s trip to the northernmost parkrun in mainland Britain last week, Alexia O’Rourke went one further this week – to Bressay parkrun in the Shetland Isles! Alexia has kindly sent a report of her adventures, which sound amazing and feature as a separate post.
Nearer home, there was a good turnout at Leazes Park to welcome Alice Vialard back to the North East, albeit for a brief visit from her home in Sydney en-route to her native France. Alice was a much-loved member and former Chair of the club before she emigrated down-under (this starting what has become a well-trodden route for French Claremonters!). Michael Teasdale also chose Leazes to chalk-up his 50th parkrun and thus earn his 1st milestone t-shirt. Laurie Johnson marked the occasion by running a Leazes PB.
As ever, the Claremont women showed the men how it is done with two 1st place finishes – Heather Steel at Gateshead and Lynne Cornell at Carlisle Park – and a PB for Cate Walker at Jesmond Dene.
