Heavy rain on Friday gave the pakruns of the North East a soggy feel this weekend, though for the most part the rain was kind enough to hold off for the 9am start.
There were a few tourists as usual venturing a bit further afield than Tyne & Wear. Alex Harding warmed up for a weekend of orienteering fun in North Yorkshire, with a gentle trot around Conyngham Hall. Bill Milbourne made a rare appearance with his 4th parkrun of the year at Ferry Meadows in Cambridgeshire, clocking his fastest time in over 3 years.
Way out west, Lucy Keating added to her recent tourism at Melksham in Wiltshire, while Tara Hipwood actually crossed the border, returning to Riverfront in Newport, and knocking a few seconds off her previous time for a course PB.
It was pretty much business as usual back in Newcastle, with 6 Claremont runners at both Leazes and Town Moor, 5 at Jesmond Dene, and the usual volunteering cadre at the former. Well done to Aaron Mansell, running a very impressive course PB in a rather slippery and muggy Jesmond Dene.
