Claremont Cycle Coven rides again, 30th Oct 2023

On Monday evening the Halloween Breeze cycle ride took place and as usual the Claremont Coven were well represented by Nina Jensen, Marie Slack, Gill Milne and Silvia Velastegui, a regular handicap guest. Unfortunately Cath Robson had to miss out this year as her witchcraft skills were needed at a work event.

Nina was looking every inch of the Grand High Witch although at one point she wished she hadn’t bothered when she realised her phone was still in the office – along with the rest of her work team and boss! Luckily, fellow leader Elaine (in normal cycling gear) was able to pop back and get it for her.

The ride went from the Cycle Hub along to the Quayside, over the Swing Bridge to the Staithes and back. The leaders had decided to avoid the Handicap Route so as not to disturb the runners although Gill’s broomstick would have come in handy to help clear the course.

At the end of the ride, the Cycle Hub was open specially for the riders to provide free coffee and cake which was much appreciated by all. Hopefully next year the event won’t clash with the Handicap so even more Claremont ladies can enjoy a cycle ride for Halloween.
