Barcelona Half-Marathon, 11th February 2024

Aoife Monaghan and Jack Shawcross went in search of some winter sunshine and found it by running in the Barcelona Half-Marathon!

Aoife had been unwell in the lead-up, so did exceptionally well to still come under 2 hours. In her words “A mixture of happy and disappointed as I expected a much better time than what I ran at Brass Monkey but I’ll still take that given I could barely walk up my stairs without getting out of breath, or speak a couple of days ago.” I think you should be more happy than disappointed, Aoife.

Jack sets himself very high standards, and summed up hos experience thus: “Glad it wasn’t a goal race, I thought I was on for a low 1:17. Very windy too so I’ll take it, definitely won’t be my fastest time though.”
