Food Bank Run, 12th February 2024

The Food Bank Run is a national initiative with the aim of involving running clubs around the country in supporting their local food banks. The idea is that the club organises a run which passes the food bank, with each runner making a donation.

As the food banks are closed at the time of our club runs, we collected donations at the Sports Centre, then members ran with a donation that they could easily carry to our own collection point – the boot of Cath Robson’s car, parked at the top of Wingrove Road!

Cath then delivered the goods to the Newcastle Food Bank in Newburn. This is what she said: “Thanks to everyone who got involved in our Food Bank Run 2024. The Newcastle Food Bank warehouse staff were delighted to receive your 54kg of donations this morning. Great work everyone.”
