Despite a few of us resting before the NECAA Relays at Hetton Lyons, Claremont was well represented at the main local parkruns with 22 runners from Leazes east to Rising Sun. The biggest contingent were at Leazes Park, where there were some very good performances too. Anneliza Andreadi bagged a PB, Dave Roberts missed his PB by 1 second and David Lydall recorded his fastest run there for 2 years.
Though Sophie Richardson was the only other Claremonter to post a course PB (at Town Moor), the fast lasses did well again! Sarah Kerr finished as 1st female at Town Moor, Izzy Neatrour and Heather Steel were 3rd ladies at Jesmond Dene and Gateshead respectively, while Nicki O’Brien was also 3rd on her first trip to Rising Sun.
On the tourism front, Luke Woodend went down to York to get his “Y”, Tara Hipwood was in her South Wales homeland at Riverfront, and it was good to see that Catherine Young is getting back up to speed at Keswick.
One notable landmark this week – congratulations to Allie Wilson Craw on completing their 100th parkrun.
