A week after the London Marathon, and Claremont was thriving at parkrun, with our presence felt at no fewer than 17 events.
New member Sophie Ellam popped home to Yorkshire to run at Barnsley, Tom & Gill were also on family-visiting duty at a congested 600th event for Princes Park in Liverpool, and David Roberts completed the theme with a trip to the future in-laws over in Portrush, Northern Ireland. Although Dave was across the sea, Alex Harding was our furthest flung as the crow flies, running down at University Parks in Oxford.
After last week’s PB-fest, there was more of the same back on Tyneside. Mark Anderson seems to have taken recently entering a new age category as a personal challenge, and one week on from running close to a 3 hour marathon, claimed 1st place at Leazes, along with his first sub-18 minute parkrun!
Following her PB/podium exploits at Prudhoe, Cate Walker went one better, finishing as 2nd lady at Saltwell Park while knocking a further 38 seconds off the previous Saturday’s PB, and Holly Porter laughed in the face of the quagmire at Rising Sun, rounding out the trio with her own PB and 3rd lady finish. Sophie Richardson got in on the act, with a course PB on the Town Moor.
