Newcastle parkrun 21/04/12

Good conditions on the moor this morning with a very slight breeze and occasional sunshine. The threat of rain didn’t affect what turned out to be a fantastic turnout from team Claremont.  Congratulations to Chris Gillis and Elisabeth Stoddart on their PBs.  Chris ran under 18 minutes officially for the first time but I do know for a fact that he has done this before at Newcastle parkrun but forgot his barcode on that occasion so it wasn’t recorded!  Always remember your barcode folks, or at least memorize the number. There was a close fight to the finish between Dave Kear and Bill Milbourne with Dave just winning out in the end by a second.  Being the race timer has its perks, you get to witness brilliant photo-finishes like that.

As well as running at Newcastle, Claremonters were parkrunning elsewhere.  Dave Manners is a regular at Gateshead and finished 33rd in a time of 26:52, whilst Freddie Yauner completed the Highbury Fields parkrun in 34:53.
