Newcastle parkrun 16/06/12

Seeing the rain lashing down at 7am, it looked like it was going to be a wet and miserable parkrun but thankfully it eased off just in time for the start. With the Hoppings being set up on the moor, the course had to be changed at the last minute. Looking at all the PBs, I’d say the alternate course is a hit! Turnout was smaller than usual because of the inaugural parkrun at Whitley Bay which drew away a few of the regulars, hopefully not a regular occurrence! Gordon Macfadyen ran his first parkrun and Duncan Scott managed to run with two kids in a buggy! You need to get them mini sky blue vests if they’re to be eligible for a club award Duncan. Well done to Chris Hogarth, Elisabeth Stoddart and Paul Robinson on their new PBs taking off 5, 29, and 44 seconds respectively.
