I couldn’t have picked a better day for a run along the coast. This is the most scenic parkrun I’ve done but definitely not the fastest. Like the Town Moor, the course is very exposed and the wind is brutal. With the field being so small, I found myself in third position straight away but after a 6:18 first mile, the short, steep hill at 2k took it out of me and I got passed by two runners. The headwind on the ‘out’ leg gradually ground me down but I managed to hang on for a sprint finish. Apologies to Terry Welsh but the club record is now mine!
