There was no parkrun on the Town Moor this morning due to tomorrow’s Great North Run, which meant higher than usual attendances with lots of visiting runners for Leazes, Jesmond Dene and other local events. The proximity to the GNR also meant that a lot of Sky Blues chose to marshal, have an easy run or just have a week off. There were a couple of exceptions though – a big well done to Anthony Liddle for winning Carlisle Park parkrun in Morpeth, while Clare McKitterick was 2nd female at Silksworth, Sunderland. Laurie Johnson also ventured south to take part in the Medina Isle of Wight run.
Also a big well done to all our members’ children who have taken part in the Junior Great North Runs today.
