As the country basked in a heatwave, runners would have been glad of the 9am parkrun start, though it was hot enough then where I was. Us Northerners are not meant to run in the heat! So well done to everybody who did get out for their Saturday morning parkrun fix.
The heat seemed to bring out the best in some – Niki Szlovak dipped under 20 minutes for the first time as she finished 1st lady at Riverside. It is good to see Arthur Liu making a return to parkrun, and he did so with a PB at Leazes Park, where Fred Besse continued to make progress with yet another PB.
The Slacks combined their visit to the Commonwealth Games with a parkrun at Stratford-upon-Avon, and Alex Harding was in Yorkshire, getting a PB at Harrogate.
