parkrun, 14th January 2023

It was a busy parkrun Saturday for the sky-blues, with 25 runners across 9 parkruns in the North East and Kris Axon representing Claremont all the way from South Africa, with several others taking up volunteer duties.

The parkrun tourists were out and about again this weekend, this time going up the coast to Whitley Bay, where the Claremont ladies took 2nd and 3rd lady, with Izzy Neatrour also managing a very impressive new parkrun PB of 21:45, well done Niki and Izzy!

A successful outing, with some great results, while a couple of us were taking it easy ahead of Brass Monkey. The wind stayed fairly calm and the two-lap course through the Whitley Bay promenade, which we shared with dog walkers and open water swimmers, was very much enjoyed. We’ll be heading south to Chopwell Woods for our next one.
