Leeds Abbey Dash 10K, 22nd October 2023

New member Aoife Monaghan went down to Leeds to run her first race in a Claremont vest and did the club, and herself, proud by running her 10K PB. The Leeds Abbey Dash is a 10K through the centre of Leeds. It is a charity race, raising money for Age UK, and the fast course attracts a lot of top runners (including former Claremonter Jason Hall who ran a very impressive 29:44 for an 11th place finish).

Aoife was accompanied by Jack Shawcross – a Claremont Road Runner even though he ran in a Heaton vest (his first-claim club) – who had a great run. In his own words “3 seconds off a PB, can’t really complain as not in 10k shape. So fairly happy with that. Didn’t even have time for a warm up!”. Seems like 10K shape to me, Jack!
