parkrun, 6th January 2024

For those not partaking in cross-country later on, they were still treated to a decent amount of mud across the parkruns of the North East.

Rose Hawkswood chose to avoid the quagmire and potential further injury, opting for a trot around Leazes with a fractured wrist. After an extended volunteering stint, Claremont life-er David Manners ran at Saltwell Park for the first time since the summer. Also at Gateshead, but at the other extreme of Claremont membership, newcomer Sophie Richardson recorded a PB, while Luke O’Neill recorded an impressive course PB at a slippery Jesmond Dene.

Cross-country enthusiast Alex Harding sadly wasn’t around to help complete a senior mens team, he was back home racking up another appearance at Concord, his second favourite Sheffield parkrun.
