Chopwell Trail 10K & Half, 16th June 2024

Thanks to Chris Jones for this summary of the Chopwell Summer Trail runs:

“Chopwell parkrun is a favourite of mine, and the woods have been a happy training ground for Kielder marathon and the Chevy in the past, so I was very pleased to join this Wild Deer event, 1 lap for the 10k and 2 slightly longer laps for the Half, making full use of the hills with 200m of ascent per lap. Jim Crinnion and I swapped places and words of encouragement several times on the first lap, but then he zipped away into the distance as I kept something in reserve for lap 2. A trip on a tree root at 9 miles left me with some cuts and bruises as additional mementos as well as the nice eco medal, but overall a brilliant morning.”
