The weather was very different to last week with snow, ice and wind being replaced with a very mild day for the time of year, though other reasons meant that there were no parkruns at Whitley Bay and Rising Sun once again.
There was an excellent turnout of 15 runners, and a few volunteers, to help Holly Porter celebrate her 50th parkrun at Leazes Park. Due to the park being used for the Northern Lights Christmas event, the course has had to be amended, and now has an additional 140 or so metres added to each of the 3 laps! So no PBs to mark the occasion, though Sarah Kerr and Izzy Neatrour did finish as 2nd and 3rd females.
There were a couple of Claremont PBs, though. Aoife Campbell ran well on the Town Moor, and Lucy Ward got a PB on her second outing at Talkin Tarn, near Brampton, smashing her previous time by over 5 minutes.
The Smiths ventured north of the border to collect a “V” at Vogrie, near Dalkeith, while Sophie Richardson headed in the opposite direction to run at Cambridge.
