Christmas Party, 9th December 2024
Following a festive run down to the Quayside and around the Baltic Mile, it was onto the Old George for the annual Christmas party..
It is a good reflection on the success of the club in 2024, that we had to spread out of the function room to also use the balcony area above the bar – at least while we ate and tackled the now customary quiz!
The quiz had to be decided by a tie-break question before the team called “It’s a Runderful Life” claimed their prize of a box of chocolates.
Claremont’s star, Joyce Archibold, then presented the Colin Archibold trophy to this year’s winner, Roberto Marzo, before making the draw for the London Marathon place – congratulations to Jenny Roberts, we are sure you will do us proud on the streets of the capital in April.
As ever, the highlight of the evening was the Personality of the Year awards. Following the many awards for eccentricities achievements, there was a Lifetime Achievement award for Sarah Kerr before Anton Mirafsari was named Claremont Personality of the Year 2024.
Many thanks to Anna and her support team for another great evening.
