EvenSplits York 5k Series, 14th February 2025

A star-crossed Valentine’s tale from Anton Mirafsari:

“This 5K race never disappoints. The course is a purpose-built, 1km-long, figure-of-eight-shaped flat track designed for setting 5K PBs. It is closed to the public and features a race clock at the 1km mark, making it ideal for locking in and racing hard!

Anton Mirafsari and Harry “Haribo” Mawdsley made the trip to York on a very cold but windless day, enjoying a day out in the city before taking on the race.

While in York, they loaded up on carbs and protein—and even shared a very romantic hot chocolate in front of York Minster, the perfect pre-race preparation.

The star of the show was Harry, who ran a fantastic 30-second PB. He executed the race almost perfectly, maintaining very even splits before kicking home hard in 16:44! A massive well done to Harry!

Great news for Anton too, as he just about survived another race.”
