Spring Handicap, 28th April 2025
Spring has definitely sprung, and it was a nice warm evening for our first trot over the Town Moor hills of the year. The field of 35 runners featured a number for whom this was their first experience of racing over the Town Moor hills, and squeezing through the gate to the woods. Hope you all enjoyed it and you now know what to expect in July.
Congratulations to Ida Djursaa who won on her fast handicap outing. Ida held off the fast-improving Lily Crouzier with Alexia O’Rourke completing an all-female 1-2-3.
The Spring Cup Final was a straightforward race between Dave Roberts and Lucy Keating, with Dave Roberts coming out on top. The next final in July will also be a two horse race between Lena Lou and Luke Woodend.
Fastest on the night was Jamie Armstrong, who ran an impressive 18:36, 12 seconds faster than Luke O’Neil, with Alex Taylor 3rd. Lily Crouzier was the fastest female in a time of 21:10, followed by Sonja Fenske and Sarah Kerr.
