Alnwick Castle Trail 10K, 18th May 2025

While many of the club were being blown down the South Tyneside coast, Diana Walmsley took part in another of the North East’s many scenic races, the Run Northumberland Alnwick Castle Trail 10K.

Similar to the recent Les Allcorn run, this race takes place in Hulne Park, starting and finishing on the banks of the River Aln. There is a fair bit of climbing between 5 and 7 kilometres, but the reward is that it is mainly downhill from then on. Diana enjoyed the run, finishing in 129th place in a time of 1:20:49, which is, according to Strava, her 2nd fastest 10K ever.
