Weetslade Relay, 25th June 2025

Thanks to everybody who ran in, marshalled, supported or participated in any way in this year’s Weetslade Relay – we hope you enjoyed it!

Congratulations to Tyne Bridge Harriers ‘A’ team for their first place finish. They finished over a minute ahead of second placed Sunderland Harriers ‘A’, who managed to hold off Morpeth Harriers ‘A’ by just 2 seconds. Not surprisingly, the 3 members of the Tyne Bridge team all featured in the fastest individual positions – Jess Eaton being fastest senior woman, while Jarlath McKenna and Michael Hedley tied for the title of fastest male veteran. There was some consolation for Sunderland and Morpeth with Joe Armstrong, James Tilley and Lizzie Rank picking up individual prizes. However, it was Elswick who claimed the honours in the veteran female category, thanks to good runs from Justina Heslop and Gillian Manford.
