Another busy Saturday morning, and another day where there were reasons to celebrate for a number of Claremont Road Runners.
Aoife Monaghan had an early start as, along with Jack Shawcross, she headed down to Horncastle in Lincolnshire in order to complete her parkrun alphabet. Aoife collected her final letter, a Q, at Queen Elizabeth’s Grammar School. Jim Crinnion was in Manchester, Rose Hawkswood in Leicester, Lily Crouzier and Katy Adkins in Battersea, and further south, the Smiths became the first Claremont Road Runners ever to run at Uckfield in East Sussex.
Yana Bevan made the longest trip of the day, and it was well worthwhile as she chalked up her first ever sub-25 minute parkrun.
Back in the North East, a 5-strong Claremont contingent sampled the delights of the North East’s newest parkrun, the Heritage Coastal Path in County Durham.
It was a good day for the O’Brien family at Whitley Bay, where, cheered on by their young daughters, Nicki O’Brien completed her 50th parkrun accompanied by Dean who completed his first parkrun since undergoing knee surgery. Nikoletta Szlovak squeezed in another parkrun before leaving these shores; this time at Gateshead where she was 2nd female; while Catherine Young was, once again, 1st lady at Fulwell Quarry.
