DK Mile, 5th September 2025

The 6^th and final run in this years DK Mile series, and the stakes were high for two of our runners, sitting top as fastest in their age category going into this last event.

Mark Anderson was looking for a second consecutive triumph in the men’s over 50’s, while young Charlotte Kerr, who’d only made her debut in May, was sitting in pole position for the under 13 girls.

As it turned out, the last run proved a formality, as neither of their most likely nearest competitors turned up, probably too intimidated by the prospect of eating Claremont dust! Charlotte proved she didn’t even need the motivation of a rival, beating her PB in style.

Both were presented with a shiny trophy, and celebrated with a victory ice cream. Kudos also to Sarah Kerr, who in only her 2^nd mile of an injury hit season, came within 3 seconds (and a rogue dog bolting across her path) of scooping her own age category prize.
