parkrun, 22nd November 2025

The north-east was still feeling the effects of mid-week snow this Saturday, with a few local parkruns being called off due to unsafe, icy conditions.

Whitley Bay was one of the survivors, and it was the venue that bore witness to Eddie Smith maintaining his hot streak, running a fifth consecutive course PB! On a mission to visit every north-east parkrun, Cate Walker finished as 1st lady on the Teesside coast at Redcar, a charming 3-lapper through trees and around a boating lake (as well as a promised weekly joke during the briefing. Today: What do you call 2 men hanging in front of a window? Curt n’ Rod…)

After Osaka last week, Gill and Tom continued their Japanese adventure at the aptly named Sunshine Beach in Otsu.
