parkrun, 29th November 2025

Leazes was cancelled this weekend, with a decision from HQ still pending over the necessary route alteration, due to the annual Northern Lights show occupying the park. This freed up a few committed volunteers and regulars to run off elsewhere for their dose of parkrun.

Peter Noble and Becky Webster attended the second event of the new Elemore Park near Hetton-le-Hole, almost doubling the numbers from their first. There was naturally another course PB for Eddie Smith at Windy Nook, with Ann joining him in that feat this time.

Lucy Ward and Harry Mawdsley also earned course PB’s, at Gateshead and Jesmond Dene respectively, with Harry racking up another ‘parkwin’. It was a case of Alex2 at Town Moor, Taylor and Harding both recording their best times. Catherine Young was reliably on the podium as ever at Fulwell Quarry, finishing as 2nd lady.

With the Japanese adventure sadly over, it was especially quiet on the tourism front. David Lydall had a familiar run-out at Poole in Dorset, while Cate Walker managed a great course PB on a soggy racecourse in York.
