Whilst a snowstorm caused late cancellations for the coastal parkruns at Whitley Bay and Blyth, many other local events defied the icy conditions and went ahead. It was a day for ensuring you stayed upright rather than chase a PB, so not surprisingly there weren’t any! We did have 2 “podium” finishers though – Harry Mawdsley winning at Jesmond Dene and Heather Steel being 2nd lady at Gateshead.
I’m not sure if it was any warmer in the south, where Yana Bevan ran at Dartford, while Chris Jones was even further south, and west a bit, in Hampshire.
