Kingdom of Northumbria Coastal Ultra 54k, 8th March 2026
Chris Jones ventured up the Northumberland Coast for a trail ultra, and send us this report:
“I was very lucky to have beautiful weather for this trail ultra-marathon from Bamburgh to Druridge Bay, as it is very definitely the only one I am ever going to enter! The 54km of grass, gravel, sand and a bit of tarmac was tougher than I expected, and the finish lap of the lake at Druridge felt a lot longer than half a parkrun. The views were spectacular from the coastal path, and Wild Deer put on another fantastic event with a great atmosphere and Northumberland themed bib number, medal and T-shirt.”
Chris finished in 79th place out of 500 runners in a time of 5 hours 42 minutes. Very well done!
