Spring had definitely sprung this Saturday and there was a spring in the step of many of our parkrunners!
Lena Lou must have fancied practising her hills as she chose to warm-up for the afternoon’s cross-country at Jesmond Dene where, of course, she ran a course PB. Roberto Marzo chose to do a slightly longer warm-up, as he accompanied Catherine Young on a 22 mile run, which included Town Moor parkrun, as part of her marathon training. Where he found the energy to then run 6 miles of cross-country on perhaps the toughest course of the year is anybody’s guess. Perhaps wor Robbie is solar-powered and can keep running as long as the sun shines!
There was a landmark for Claire Taylor as she notched up her 250th parkrun at Elemore Park and can now claim her green t-shirt as a reward. Lucy Ward, Maria Oranges and Sonam Wangdi also had cause to celebrate with PBs at Rising Sun and Leazes respectively.
Lucy Keating was on the tourist trail further down the east coast at Bridlington. Just a bit further away, and in a westerly direction, Niamh Garratt and Zoe Jukes became international tourists and had a great time at Brooklyn Bridge in New York City.
