Newport Marathon, 19th April 2026

Yana Bevan was in South Wales for the Newport Marathon Festival (as previously recommended by Tara Hipwood). Although, Yana said: “Didn’t get a good time, didn’t particularly have a good time”, I think the smiles in the photos say differently. Yana did add “I think the smiles in the photos say that she did enjoy it, really! differently!”, and she also recommends the race:

“It was a wonderfully flat course so I think many people got PBs on Sunday (including my dad who did the 10K)! However that might have been the first day I’ve ever sustained a sunburn in South Wales in April, and made it my mission just to get round and get the t shirt! Would definitely recommend to anyone after a marathon PB.”

Yana not only “got round”, but ran a very creditable 4:49:53, finishing in 2,325th place.
