This week at parkrun, we start by inviting you to read an extended report from Lucy Keating, currently in The Netherlands as she works her way around Europe.
Rose Hawkswood managed the feat of an overseas parkrun whilst remaining in the UK, stretching her legs at Kirkwall, in the Orkney Islands. Back on the mainland, there were a few tourists scattered about. Peter Noble and Sarah Taylor both visited different parts of Yorkshire, Pete in Chevin Forest north of Leeds, Sarah ticking off a ‘V’ further south at Vermuyden Way near Doncaster, while Lucy and Rob Ward were on the outskirts of Nottingham at Long Eaton.
At the far end of the country, David Lydall was at his familiar stomping ground of Poole, running his fastest parkrun in over a year. Alex Oliver-Evans burrowed his way to Surrey, to explore the delightfully named Mole Valley.
Cross-country later in the day probably put a dent in the number of Claremont runners we’d often see at Leazes, with a few opting to volunteer. Less so at Town Moor, where it was great to see Alex Taylor completing his first parkrun since May, after injury.
Joining Lucy on the podium this week (do read her report!) was Lena Lou, adding 1st lady to her now customary course PB at Ashington.
