Jarrow 10k, 18th October 2026

The return of the now annual Jarrow 10k this Sunday, on a chilly morning in the North-East. Known for being ‘fast and flat’, though those running may beg to differ, there were some great performances from our runners.

Harry Mawdsley was the sole entrant in the ‘A’ race, for whippets who expect to finish under 40 minutes. Harry was not only well under this marker, but he dipped under 34 minutes for the first time ever, with a smashing PB.

There was also an official PB for Eddie Smith in the ‘B’ race, and Sarah Taylor was thrilled to go sub-70 for the first time in nearly three years. Lynne Cornell collected her fairly customary age category win, with Hazel Juggins finishing an impressive 2^nd in hers.
