Runs n’ Roses, 5th March 2023
4 of our intrepid runners took part in Saturn Running’s ‘Runs n’ Roses’ event on Sunday.
Set by the River Wear in Durham, the run is described as “a 7 hour Time Challenge event which allows you full control over the distance you want to run. The minimum distance is 5km, which is part of a full lap. A full lap is 4.37 miles (7km) and you can run as many or as few of these laps as you wish in the 7hr time limit.”
A semi-regular at these events, the seemingly indestructible Nina Jensen opted for the marathon distance (having churned out a couple of 50k runs at past iterations, 279 miles total from 10 events!), while Mary Martin, Julie Dumpleton and Marie Slack completed a mightily impressive half each.
It looks as though there were plenty of smiles to be had on an overcast day, with some committed fancy dress on show. Well done, ladies!
