No storm warnings this week, allowing our parkrunners to go about their business in thankfully less humid conditions.
Dave Roberts was our only ‘overseas’ traveller, returning to his alternative home of Portrush, Northern Ireland, to run on the beach once more. Bill Milbourne and Allie Wilson Craw both made their debuts at Scottish parkruns, Bill travelling to Oriam near Edinburgh (their “4th busiest ever”, at 273 finishers), Allie a bit further north to Perth.
Rose Hawkswood journeyed to North Yorkshire, to visit the bucolic Thorp Perrow, while Cate Walker and Chris Jones practically passed like ships in the night in Nottinghamshire, at Newark and Long Eaton respectively.
Lily Crouzier ran a course PB at an incredibly busy Battersea (over 1000 runners!), with the rest of this weeks milestones coming closer to home. Zoë Jukes ran a course PB by the sea at Whitley Bay, Claire Taylor and Jim Crinnion picking up theirs further inland, at Town Moor and Gateshead. Just ahead of Jim, Harry Mawdsley finished 3rd overall, but over at Leazes, Peter Noble smashed his parkrun PB by 26 seconds and finished 2nd (despite some persistent corner-cutting by another runner!)
Roberto Marzo was taking it easy before the Northumberland Coastal Run the next day, helping daughter Elena to another PB at Prudhoe!
