Chopwell Woods 10K & 10M, 31st August 2025

Chopwell Woods is a popular venue for races these days – with day and night trail runs and a parkrun letting runners get to know this beautiful corner of the North East. This event had 5K, 10K and 10M options, with Claremont being represented in the two longer races.

Diana Walmsley and Michael Teasdale ran in the 10K, with Diana summing it up as:

“Had a blast at Chopwell. It was great to see it in the daytime, having previously only seen it at night (Greener Miles Chopwell Moon Runner, last October). The course was tough with loads of elevation and a few hazards but the Run Through staff/volunteers were all really helpful and positive, cheering us on. Will definitely be back sometime soon.”

Needless to say, Nina Jensen ran the 10 mile version! Nina was 42nd overall and 1st in her age category in a time of 1:36:55.
